Happy Holidays from Virgin

Well, Virgin is at it again! Actually -- I'm not sure if they were at it before, but being that they are British, they get to do things a little dodgier. Spotted their latest Virgin Mobile commercial last night, and here's the play-by-play.

Okay, so it looks like we have an Old Navy thing going on here. Oh, look -- there are minorities manning the phones. It's a multi-denominational telethon, hence the very old Christmafestivahannukah reference....

Oh, how cute. It's an old cowboy Buddhist guy. CUTE! CUTE!

Oh, my. Hindu Santa guy. Oh, funny Indian accent. I like the way he says "tickle" -- cute. It's like Apu from The Simpsons, kind of.

Oh, no they didn't. Okay, creepy. Oh, this is creepy. That's a really gay elf. Like creepy in a '70s Uncle Pete at the family trip to the zoo creepy. I'm really not identifying with this gay elf. Should I? I mean, my community gets so little representation on TV. Should I identify with the elf more than boring Will on Will & Grace? Oh, Hermie didn't become a dentist, he moved to San Fran and opened a salon! Oh, my soul hurts.

Mommy. Mommy. Hold me.

And yes, I think the ads are funny and I can take a joke.

Urine Town

Not sure what was up last night in the universe, but I was seeing the strangest commercials. First up -- Urine Gone! Odd, no? Reminds me of a cat litter system they used to advertise in Canada -- called "Catch It" -- get it? Catshhhhit...

OMG. OMG. I seriously can't wait.

I see hot people.

As Gawker has been reporting, the MPA's "Covers of the Future" are, well, boring. This one caught my eye though. And I thought Haley Joel Osment was gonna grow up all weird and stuff...

Dr. Noah Drake, I presume...

Ladies and gentlemen -- Dr. Noah Drake is back. Rick Springfield, the source of one very uncomfortable crush for many of us, is back with -- oh get this -- covers of some '80s hits. Including "Life in a Northern Town." I can die -- now. Seriously.

Speaking of pandas...

Have y'all seen the dog in Japan made over to look like a panda? This is some animal abuse I could totally get into. Cute!

My Dog's Left Paw Could Be A Celebrity These Days

Is it ironic that I didn't know who these people were until they announced and then called off their engagement? No, it's total publicist evil, you bastards.

Have you seen the ones here?

I mean, really -- who are we to judge France's aesthetics? C'mon.

And yes, I get it.

LOGO: TV for the Gays. Or Is It?

You know, I never caught that "gay" Jason Bateman show "Some of My Best Friends" when it was on "straight" TV so I thought I'd TiWO it (that's DVR on Time Warner Cable for us poor folks) when I noticed it was being rerun on the "gay" TV. Kudos to TiWO or LOGO or whomever came up with the flashy, rich description, below....

Kenneth Cole sucks

I've had enough with those asinine Kenneth Cole billboards on the West Side Highway. We get it, Kenny, you're "with it" and you "watch the news."

Spencer Day -- thank you for being born

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the new Norah Jones. [cricket, cricket] Well, you get what I mean. This handsome fellow is what -- I guess -- you'd call a new breed, the modern crooner. Sure, he sings some great standards on his first album, but lordy, on his new EP he sings some self-penned originals that are so sweet, he's now officially on my lunch list. Eventhough I'm willing to bet he says "dude" a lot but oh well.

Random Dog Shot #1

A new beginning! Ok, not that dramatic.

Image is from Flickr's fab cluster of chihuahuas, which I guess is like a flock of geese.
