Kenneth Cole sucks

I've had enough with those asinine Kenneth Cole billboards on the West Side Highway. We get it, Kenny, you're "with it" and you "watch the news."

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The idea of a mere fashionista (no matter how rich) attempting to lead public opinion in any direction is preposterous.

Kenneth Cole is an asshole. A coworker of mine went on to work for Kenneth Cole. She traveled to the far reaches of China, got sick on one of the trips and died.

I traded letters with her very distraught parents, who told me that the man himself approached them and asked for a "leather jacket back" that he had given to my friend as a gift.

Who does that? "I'm sorry that my horrible travel schedule and yearning to make shoes in Chinese sweat shops ultimately killed your daughter, but, can I take back my gift?"

Kenneth Cole always has clever ads, why be mad? do you prefer the tommy hilfiger self promotion vanity project television show adverts, or possibly another billboard of thought provoking cars. hey, here is an idea, while you are driving back to jersey, where you clearly live, make plans to not come back to manhattan because its clearly too sophisticated for you.

Oh anonymous, aren't you DARLING?! Actually, I live in Washington Heights, but whatever. I don't find using past, present and future natural disasters as a marketing ploy very clever. Clearly you're sophisticated enough to "get it" so I'll shut up. Oh, and how's that $2200 per month Chelsea 150 square-foot studio sublet on 7th Ave. treating you?

The Kenneth Cole ads remind me of myself in third grade, proud that I knew who Gorbachev was. The copy is so unhumorous and uninformed that I originally thought the ads were meant to mock the average citizen's knowledge of current events.

It's ashame that Kenneth feels the need to cash in on what's going on in this world. One would think he should devote more time to his achingly uninspired collection of disposable clothing for the visually impaired. What happened to the Kenneth Cole I used to know? Didn't he once send clever messages that made one think? Didn't he once make shoes and leather goods that actually looked like leather? KC should really consider cleaning house - Get Rid Of Your Marketing Team! Lay Off Your Design Team! Fire Your Pathetic Store Planners!

Your brand S U C K S and is losing money.

I find that ad offensive. And yes, I have a sense of humor. It's still offensive.

The day after 9/11, when most stunned New Yorkers were trying to volunteer - to give blood, help out, anything - Kenneth Cole sent an email to his staff stating that all employees MUST come in to work. And if they couldn't make it (for whatever reason, can't imagine, can you?), their pay would be docked. Nice guy. Not to mention that his headquarters are right up the street from the Javitz Center, where thousands flocked to offer help on September 12th.

If he really wanted to support New York City, he could have sent all of his employees to Javitz with donated clothing and shoes for the workers at Ground Zero. Instead, we get annoying ad campaigns on the West Side Highway.

I work at a publishing company and a couple of weeks ago we had Kenneth Cole's agency call us up wanting us to 'donate' a two page spread as a 'public service announcement' for AIDS.

What the F&#K! Why they don't just call it what it is, a 2 page ad spread for Kenneth Cole which they don't want to pay for. Since when do we need more PUBLIC SERVICE announements regarding aids?!?!

I really felt like bitch-slapping Kenneth Cole.

The worst Kenneth Cole ad I ever saw was at their store at Grand Central. In their window, they had 3 skirt suits lined up in a row.

Caption on skirt suit #1: "Liberal."

Caption on (slightly different) skirt suit #3: "Conservative."

Caption on skirt suit #2: "Bipolar."

You just can't get more stupid and offensive than that. Way to go, Kenneth!

(They took it down the next day. Thank God.)

I used to work for kenneth and let me tell you he is an ASSHOLE!! And it is true about asking for the leather jacket back from the dead girls parents. It is also true that he ran a fund raising campaign after 9/11. As of the 2004 Tsumani those 9/11 funds were still in an account gaining interest. Or how about the time, the day after 9/11, when we were all told to report to work or it would be counted as a vacation or personal day....I could go on, but you get the point...the man and his company suck!!!

This is your chance to help me out, and stick it to Kenneth Cole at the same time.

My name is Pete Brush. My "gift card" # is 6012 9762 4997 4609. I was treated very rudely at the Chicago-Michigan Ave store last Sunday and now I just want my money back off the card.

Please call 1-800-KEN-COLE and tell them to "send Pete Brush his $50". I would really appreciate it. At this point, it's not about the money anymore, it's about Kenneth Cole sticking it to the little guys out there.

Thanks so much.

Let me tell you, I was an insider at that place and its true...He is the WORST man to work for. He is a slave driver. Me and 7 people QUIT because of the hours of labor you put in, and the COMPENSATION that LACKS!!!!! CHEAP is not the word...He believes that if you work for his brand that should be enough of a compensation??? PLEASE. His cr*p is so poorly made and its all RIP OFFS of other designers. That company is TERRIBLE to work for. I was there for over 2 years and the bonus I got was insulting. I might as well have worked at McDonald's and flipped burgers vs. working my tail off w/ 3 different jobs but only getting ONE TITLE and half of a salaries pay for that matter. EFF KENNETH COLE, and I am adoment to tell EVERYONE I know to NEVER buy his brand again!!!

Aren't ads made to be understood by everyone? even if they're low brow? I have no idea what this means, and I've never found myself to be low brow.
